The need for Anand Clinic became clear after longtime local physician Dr. James Randall Smith suffered a heart attack.
Many of his patients suddenly found themselves without a primary care doctor. They shared how difficult it was to find a new provider—and how frustrating it felt seeing different doctors at every visit in large clinics or residency programs.
We created Anand Clinic to fill this gap.

Meet Dr. Neel Patel
Anand Clinic was founded by Dr. Neel Patel, board-certified in Family Medicine.
After years working as a hospitalist and as faculty in the Family Medicine Residency Program at Lewis Gale Medical Center, Dr. Patel saw healthcare becoming overly corporate.
Tired of profit-driven decisions and politics, he chose a different path—one centered on service.
